The UK-U-28

The German Submarine U-28 association (UK-U-28) is an comradeship  of former members of submarine U-28 of the German Navy. In the contrast with the locally engaged submarine comradeships, where most of the members live near a city (e.g., UK Kiel etc.), the members the UK-U-28 are scattered all over Germany. The UK-U-28 was founded on 13th of November 2004 in Eckernförde, which is primarily to be owed to the engagement of the association chairman Burghard Klaus Thomalla.

The first submarine U28 was put in service in the imperial navy on June, 26th, 1914 with Georg Günter Freiherr von Forstner as the commander. It was an Uboot 2-cover high sea boat of the type U27. On September, 02nd, 1917 it sank under commander Georg Schmidt,

Also in the Kriegsmarine there was a submarine U28, it was a boat of the type VIIa and was put in service on the 12th September, 1936 under commander KptLt . Wilhelm Ambrosius.
